David Feldman, MD, professor of medicine at Stanford, explores the biological action of Vitamin D beyond its widely understood role in the information and maintenance of bone.     D3 is NOT a vitamin. It is integral to the immune system. Without it or with low levels all the modern non-infectious diseases arise (e.g., heart disease, cancer, etc.). BTW, my friend has had his toddler (18m) on D3 since he was an infant. He has NEVER had otitis media (Latin for “Infection of the Middle Ear”) which is the bread & butter of pediatricians.
