Fish Oil Vitamins Or Mercury Free Flax Seed?

Most people know that Fish oil gives the body a lot of benefits. Besides the fact that it contains a lot of Omega-3 fatty acids, it has also been proven to help cure certain diseases. Our bodies do not naturally produce fatty acids and this is the reason why we have to eat certain food to get our daily dose of it.

Another source of Omega 3 fatty acids is flax seed which is also known as linseed. This is a very good substitute for fish oil vitamins because it also contains a form of Omega 3. Flax seed has already been used for many years to help in digestion but according to recent studies, flax seed also contains ALA fatty acids which can be converted into Omega 3 fatty acids.

Ever since it has been proven that flax seed is also a source, there have been some debates among professionals and consumers about which source is a better source of Omega-3 fatty acids? Is it Fish oil or flax seed?

It has been proven that flax seed contains a lot of anti-inflammatory properties and it can help with a lot of health conditions that a person might have. However, the reason why flax seed is beneficial is because it has ALA properties that will be naturally converted by the body to become Omega 3 fatty acids.

There are some people whose bodies cannot convert the ALA properties and therefore would not get the benefits of the fatty acids. This is the reason why most professionals recommend just taking fish oil rather than consuming flax seed.

It has been strongly stated by professionals that if you would have to choose between flax seed and not pure fish oil, it is better to choose the flax seed because ALA can still reap benefits for the body.

So if you are given the chance to take flax seed and unpurified fish oil, it would be better to take flax seed because it will be better for the body. You can still consume healthy fishes in your diet if you would choose to. Do take note that there are still other sources of Omega 3 fatty acids such as certain vegetables and nuts.
